During the week of the royal wedding I thought it would be a good time to share my passion for lace & talk about my ‘Losing Lace Project’ I brought in some of my paintings inspired by the old lace pattern books my father gave to me.
My family were lace manufacturers in Draycott & my project researched the disappearance of the industry & my family’s connection to it.
I talked about the materials I used & techniques. The participants looked at the artefacts I brought along to the session & then sketched lace patterns & made lace collages. A few had a go at printing lace too with delightful results!
