This week we decided to go back to the roaring 1920s.
I began by sharing a video of two flapper dancers, as soon as the music began everyone was tapping their feet and wiggling about in their seats.
Such recognisable music had everyone sharing their knowledge of the Charleston by showing off their moves or just how ever this music made them.
We learned an energetic Charleston dance all together full of kicks and twists, I taught 6 steps which we put together to create a sequence.
We then created our own Charleston inspired dance, we each came up with a moved inspired by the main elements of charleston: rhythm, taps, steps, kicks, flicks, swings, twists etc.
We had great fun and got pretty warm whilst doing it!
