We had a joyful first art session at Dover Court this week. It was a delight to meet some of the residents & I am looking forward to the next few weeks encouraging participants to connect with their creativity.
Each participant was given a sketchbook to get them started. I showed the group my first sketchbook which helped me get back into painting after many busy years bringing up my children.
As walks in nature often give me inspiration I brought along the first signs of colour starting to flower in our garden: Crab apple blossom & Forsythia.
During the session participants made a start by selecting images from magazines & photos and were encouraged to create a collage of colours & things which give them joy. This led to a sharing of interests & stories from the past.
